Sunday 1st of August
8:00am - 11:00am
194 Breakfast Creek Road, Newstead
Location : Mercedes-Benz Brisbane Arrivals Hall will be the location for our second Enthusiasts Morning (Cars and Coffee) for 2021.
What a venue, situated on the first floor of the near new Breakfast Creek Precinct, no wind, no rain and no brain frying sun.
Lets see if we can fill the hall, we need at least 80 Mercedes-Benz cars.
Enter the building via Durong Street, keep to the left and head up the ramp, there will be parking marshalls to assist.
Coffee will be provided by Mercedes-Benz Brisbane in the reception area on the same floor we are displaying our vehicles, there is no need to leave the building
Thanks to Clare Barker MB Brisbane’s Marketing Manager who is giving up her Sunday morning so that we can have a fabulous morning.
Wednesday th 4th of August
Mitchell MacDonald will update us on the latest advances and models of Electric vehicles. Remember how we all thought this was just a “pipe dream” well Mitchell’s advice and Daimler’s commitment to the future will convince you otherwise.

Dohles Rocks is an important habitat for shorebirds – birds that live primarily between the land and the sea. During summer, the number of shorebirds in the Moreton Bay area can swell to 50,000. Many of these birds travel between 25,000-60,000 kilometres per year to reach their breeding grounds and their time on the foreshore of the Moreton Bay area is known as their time to regain essential nutrients and weight that they have lost whilst travelling these long distances.
We will be taking in the cooling breezes off the North Pine River. Another location never visited before.

A boutique sheep farm and cheesery nestled in the tranquil Grantham hills of the beautiful Lockyer Valley. Di and David Piggott are passionate Aussie farmers who work hard to produce the finest quality products on their beautiful farm. Here, surrounded by avocado groves and the gentle pottering of the Awassi, second generation cheese maker Di designs and crafts a range of bespoke cheeses and takes you on a cheese journey like no other. Family owned and operated, this purpose built dairy, boutique cheesery and farm outlet, operates as part of the overall Awassi farmstead. We are committed to preserving the heritage of this rare sheep milking breed. What does farmstead mean? Milked on farm, Cheese made on farm –now that’s the real deal! Members enjoy the beautiful ambiance of this property whilst learning what is involved in creating the most exquisite cheeses, from the paddock - to the milking parlour - to the cheesery - to your plate.
We will meet at the Puma Roadhouse Dinmore, Warrego Hwy, Bundamba [UBD Map 214 P4] (on the left approx. 3.2km from where you leave the Ipswich Motorway to join the Warrego Hwy) for a 10:00am departure for Awassi Cheesery.
The farm address is 776 Sandy Creek Road, Grantham. Sandy Creek Road is a NO through Road. The farm is located on a dirt road – please drive carefully to suit the road conditions. Sandy Creek Road begins at the intersection of Lawlers Road – this is the easiest way to navigate to Awassi Cheesery – from Lawlers Road.
Coming from Brisbane - you will need to take the Helidon exit off the Warrego Hwy.
You will need to stay left onto Lawlers Road and follow for approx. 5 kms, where you will turn left into Sandy Creek Road (two left turns off the Warrego Hwy).
Once on Sandy Creek Road, you will come to a fork in the road – the road/street sign is for you to stay left and continue along Sandy Creek Road. The farm is located on the right-hand side – with a sign AWASSI CHEESERY. Warning: There is approx. 4km of dirt road. If you take an alternate route expect to negotiate approx. 20km of dirt road.
Approx travelling time: 1 hour
Cost: Farm Tour Talk & Luncheon $48/person allowing 3hrs and members, you will need to BYO refreshments (glasses and ice buckets provided), Awassi cheeses, seasonal lunch menu and finishes with the delicious Awassi dessert cheeses. Bulimba’s Vic Lucas Park is located right on the bend of the Brisbane River, offering a beautiful vantage point for some relaxation. The park was named after a popular yachtsman in the thirties and forties who sailed from the clubhouse nextdoor to the park.
This will be a very easy day for those of us who like the quiet life and having a natter. Some members may even enjoy a “nanna nap” in the park while the grumpier ones amongst us will have the opportunity to have a “belly-ache”.

Rafting Ground Reserve is a lush sprawling oasis of green with a creek winding through it on the edge of Brookfield and Kenmore. The scenic reserve takes its name and its history back to when it was used by early settlers in the 1860s and 70s as a launching pad for timber that had been felled from the Sir Herbert Taylor Ranges forests and was transported to the site by bullock wagon.

This is our third attempt to raise this event. Firstly, it was the fires in late 2019 followed by Covid in the middle of 2020 that prevented the club from holding this run. The management have been most understanding and co-operative so I believe we owe it to the hotel to have a good roll-up.
