Combined Gold Coast and Brisbane Event

Lunch at Jimboomba House

Sunday, 7 July 2024

This rustic building, reputed to be the second oldest house in SE Queensland dates back to 1851 when it was constructed, with hand sawn red wood planks, for Andrew Inglis Henderson who took over the sheep run and later turned it into a cattle grazing property. The area was originally spelled Gimboomba and settled in 1845 when Tomas Dowse took up the large grazing lease in the area.

It is now a charming restaurant, providing lovely views across the greens from the verandah, while inside has been restored to its former glory with character features such as decorative fretwork, v-jointed boards and polished floorboards.
