Monthly Run: Sunday BBQ at the Ol' QN, Laidley

  • 20 Jun 2021
  • 10:00 AM
  • Patrick Street, Laidley. Queensland National Hotel

The QN Hotel was originally built in the early 1900's as a two story boarding house to lodge farm hands and travelers and since then, has been extended into a hotel. The hotel was then called the Bridge Hotel because of the bridge next to it and the Queensland National Bank on the other side. The hotel had a few owners and one of them changed the name to its current name, Queensland National Hotel, the QN for short.

As Sundays are the most popular time of the week at the QN, management have organized something different - a BBQ with sausages, rib fillet, potato bake and salads. And for dessert, apple crumble served with custard or ice cream. The QN team have very kindly offered us the entire outside veranda and beer garden to have a big BBQ cookout. The veranda and beer garden are also conveniently located adjacent to the car park. Because of Covid regulations, the staff are investigating how to provide tea and coffee.

Meet at College’s Crossing, Mt Crosby Rd, Chuwar [UBD Map 194 F10] for morning tea with an 11:00am departure for the QN Hotel, 90 Patrick Street, Laidley 4341.
